During the pandemic, the services had been operating at a reduced service. A review has subsequently taken place to consider the best way to open the libraries and museums to serve their users.

Kirsty Sutherland, libraries team leader, said: “We are thrilled with the upcoming changes to our opening hours. We are convinced this will make our brilliant library service more accessible across Angus and meet the demands of our members.”

ANGUSalive libraries have a diverse offering which goes way beyond the typical borrowing of books. They offer the much-loved Bookbug, Reminiscence Groups and Macmillan Information and Support Services. They also offer e-books, e-audiobooks, free internet access, printing services and are a great place to meet up with people.

The Angus service were also selected as one of only 9 other services in Scotland to be awarded funding for a “Lend and Mend Hub” at the Forfar Library.

The museums that ANGUSalive operates include Arbroath’s Signal Tower Museum, Brechin Town House Museum, Kirriemuir Gateway to the Glens Museum, Forfar’s Meffan Museum and Art Gallery and Montrose Museum.
