Owned by Frances Tait and on a sloping site facing the river, No 10 is a garden to lift the heart and home to one of the nine wells in this part of the west end of the city.

At one time, the well provided drinking water for a nearby farmhouse and two cottages. It was also the first and last water available to carriers' horses on their way to and from Dundee

Now it feeds rhododendrons and camellias, many of which came from the Rothschilds' garden at Exbury in Hampshire.

The garden will be open on April 15 and 16, from 2pm – 5pm each day. Admission is £4, children go free. Proceeds will benefit the Friends of Dundee University Botanic Garden and the scheme’s nominated charities.
