Family fun to round off Easter break

Top Angus tourist attraction Glamis Castle will be providing a wealth of entertainment to keep the whole family amused during the school Easter holiday.

And Glamis has timed its Spring Family Fun Day for when it will be needed the most - the final weekend of the break, on April 16.

With the dramatic backdrop of a centuries old castle, the fun day has something to entertain everyone, young and old.

For those looking for a thrill, Glamis has invited the Team Challenge Company to offer visitors an array of fun outdoor activities.

There will be segways, laser clay pigeon shooting, inflatable chip shot golf, gladiator dualling, a steeplechase assault course and a jungle zoo inflatable for the kids to enjoy.

As well as activities from the Team Challenge Company, there will be lots of other delights for the children to explore.

These will include nature workshops from Happily Ever After Arts, sand art, a pet parade, face painting and a Children’s Foraging Workshop from Natasha Lloyd at Gathering Nature.

As well as all these activities, there will also be a diverse range of market stalls for visitors to pick up some keepsakes, from delicious bites and drinks from local food producers Artisana Brownies, Mearns Chilli Jam and Carnoustie Distillery to gifts from Pens of Distinction and Collar and Fleece.

Inside the castle, the Castle Kitchen Restaurant will be open with a freshly prepared table d’hote menu and a delectable choice of exquisite Afternoon Tea options.

Outside, visitors can also pick up a tasty treat from Casa di Gelato, Magic 5 Pizza and Angus, Grill and Larder.

Steven Cumming, General Manager at Glamis Castle, said: "There’s so much to enjoy at the event for all ages and hope many families will come along and mark the end of the school holidays with some quality time together while having a lot of fun!”
