Stewart Petrie’s Montrose are still very much involved in the race for promotion to the Championship this season.

There’s a lot to be settled between now and the end of the term, but that hasn’t held the Links Park boss back from shaping his squad for the 2022/23 campaign.

The club has announced that Graham Webster and Liam Callaghan have signed two-year contract extensions and that Aidan Quinn has signed for another 12 months.

Lyons is currently at the club on-loan from Thistle.

The Links Park management team of Petrie and Ross Campbell are delighted to get so much work done and over the line so early.

Webster is the third longest serving player in the current squad.

The 29-year-old has made over 280 appearances for Montrose since arriving from Dundee in July 2013.

With 65 goals to his name, the Dundee born winger is the club’s current top scorer, and enjoying his best ever season’s return, has netted 15 times so far this term.

Petrie said, “I am delighted Graham has committed his future here. He is a real talent, playing at the top of his game and his willingness to stay once again speaks volumes for what we are trying to create and achieve at Links Park.”

Webster’s new deal also means he will mark his 10th anniversary with the club next year.

“Aidan is progressing really well and we are delighted to have secured his services for at least another two years,” added Petrie of Quinn. “He is playing with a maturity beyond his years and undoubtedly has a very bright future.”

Callaghan was Petrie’s first signing at Links Park, arriving from Arbroath in January 2017. Assistant manager Campbell said: “Liam has been excellent for us since he arrived and was enjoying a great run of form earlier this season before his injury .”

Lyons has netted five times in his last eight appearances and Petrie is delighted to secure him permanetly.

He added: “He is now back to his best and we look forward to seeing much more from him in the seasons ahead.”
