Bungee jump for children's charity

The event on September 30 will be the first in aid of the Archie Foundation.

Daredevil fundraisers in Angus are being asked to take a leap of faith and sign up for a charity bungee jump in aid of The Archie Foundation at Tayside Children’s Hospital.

The first ever Archie Bungee Jump will be held on Saturday, September 30, when up to 25 brave thrill-seekers will have the chance to see the scenic Perthshire countryside from a completely different angle.

The event is being held at Highland Fling Bungee in Killiecrankie, the first purpose-built, permanent bungee jump platform from a bridge in Britain.

Registration is £25 and each participant must commit to raising at least £135 for The Archie Foundation.

Jamie-Leigh Cook, the charity’s Regional Fundraising Officer for Tayside, said the jump promised to be scary yet thrilling.

She said: “This year we’ve have decided to do something a bit different and offer our supporters the closest thing you will get to human flight!”

“As well as taking on a daring jump, volunteers will be raising funds for The Archie Foundation, supporting families and patients at Tayside Children’s Hospital at Ninewells.

“All the money raised on September 30 will help us to ease the emotional and financial burden on families at a stressful and often traumatic time, when a child is in hospital. We also provide vital bereavement services to local families who need our support.

“Places are limited so we hope to see lots of people signing up to dress up and pluck up the courage to jump for a fantastic local cause.”

Teams are welcome to sign up and participants are also being encouraged to use their imaginations and get creative with fancy dress!

The bungee jump is open to over 14s and there are no height restrictions (weight restrictions apply).
