MEMBERS of Kirriemuir Amateur Operatic Society are shouting from the roof tops about their latest production.
They will be performing ‘Fiddler on the Roof’ in the town hall from Tuesday, March 19, to Saturday, March 23, at 7.30 p.m.
Jim Walker (reprising his popular role as Tevye) and Douglas Taylor (as the Fiddler) got into their respective roles for the powerful musical which starts with Tevye telling the audience that “Without our traditions, our lives would be as shaky as a fiddler on the roof!”
KAOS members hope the people of Kirriemuir and the surrounding area will make a visit to the show one of their annual traditions!
Tickets are now on sale from A B McIntosh in High Street and are priced £6 up to £10.
As rehearsals continue members received some very welcome news from Angus Council.
The group has been successful in their application for a grant from the Angus Council Event Fund to cover the costs of their hire of the Town Hall.
A spokesperson for the society said: “We are delighted to receive this grant from the Council this year. It will make a huge difference to our show costs. Most people do not realise that shows such as this cost around £12,000 to stage!”
