THE award-winning Dundee Rep Ensemble is currently performing their witty and wise production of the family show, The Firebird.

It runs at the theatre until Saturday, April 9.

The production, which is suitable for children aged five and over, is a family adventure by children’s playwright Neil Duffield.

Directed by James Brining, this thrilling production follows young Prince Ivan as he embarks on a magical adventure to a place far from the world he knows.

Dundee Rep Ensemble member Kevin Lennon (Prince Ivan) sets off on an adventure to find the elusive Firebird when his father’s precious apples are stolen.

On his quest the young prince meets a beautiful princess, (Ensemble graduate Helen Darbyshire), a one toothed Wolf (Robert Paterson) and a wicked witch called Baba Yaga (Emily Winter).

Designer Colin Richmond (Sweeney Todd) works with lighting designer Chris Davey (Peer Gynt), composer John Harris (Mother Courage) and puppet designer Rachael Canning (The Three Musketeers, Traverse) to create a world of sorcery and witchcraft where true love is only a wooden heart away.
