CARNOUSTIE Theatre Club took the top prize at the Angus District Festival of One-Act Plays, held in The Webster Memorial Theatre, Arbroath.

The event, organised by the Scottish Community Drama Association, was won by Betty Gibson’s production of ‘Yellow on the Broom’. The team was awarded the Ian McKay Trophy. Runners-up were Forfar Dramatic Society who presented ‘Hogmanay’ and won the Kay Fleming Cup. Both teams represent Angus in the Northern Divisional Finals from March 28 to 30 in the Webster. Stage Stars from Carnoustie won the Angus Youth Trophy and The Shiells Trophy for best stage presentation went to Carnoustie Theatre Club.
