AN EVENING of passion and romance is on offer at the Caird Hall, Dundee on Sunday, April 14 with Ellen Kent’s production of Bizet’s Carmen.
This dazzling new production, sung in French, is set in Seville and reflects a Goya painting. Starring international mezzo soprano Nadia Stoianova, whose portrayals of Carmen have won rapturous reviews, the production also features the full Chisinay National Philharmonic orchestra and chorus. Carmen features some of the most evocative and best-loved melodies in opera, including perhaps the best-known baritone aria of all, The Toreador’s Song.
