TAYSIDE Symphony Orchestra’s last concert of the year will take place in the Reid Hall, Forfar on Saturday, September 24, starting at 7.30 pm, with doors opening at 6.45 pm.
Taking the form of “An Evening of Magic and Dance”, the programme consists of three well-known classical pieces – the Overture from “Oberon” by Weber; Delibes’ Ballet Suite from “Coppelia” and the Symphony No. 4 by Brahms.
Ron Walker, TSO conductor said: “The orchestra is looking forward with keen anticipation to performing these popular classical works which are totally in keeping with the mood of an autumn evening.
“Hopefully they will attract a good audience similar to our last concert in June.
“I must say the players have worked very well in practice and deserve an excellent turn-out for all their efforts.
“Their commitment is certainly very much appreciated by me and the committee.
“As usual we will run a bus from Montrose/Brechin to Forfar on the evening of the concert, at a nominal cost. Anyone interested should contact John Stevenson (Montrose 676 492) as soon as possible.
“I look forward to meeting members of the audience for a complementary drink at the end of the evening.”
Tickets will be on sale soon at the following outlets: The Toy Castle, Castle Street, Forfar; Hoggs, High Street, Montrose; Adagio Music, High Street, Brechin; Print Matters, Swan Street, Brechin; any member of the TSO/TSO committee or at the door on the evening of the performance.
