The Angus branch of the National Youth Choir of Scotland is looking for members from all over the county to join in with their activities.
NYCoS Area Choirs are part of the National Youth Choir of Scotland, the organisation dedicated to encouraging singing for young people up to the age of 24.
Led by enthusiastic and expert staff, the NYCoS Angus Choir provides great singing experiences that are both fun and develop musical skills.
Taking part also provides a fantastic opportunity to make new friends, boost confidence, perform as part of a group and gain skills for life.
This spring the NYCoS Angus Choir featured as special guests at the Angus Schools Senior Concert.
This, their debut performance at the Webster Theatre in Arbroath, was a resounding success; the children sang and performed beautifully.
Receiving fantastic applause from the audience left all choir members and staff feeling very proud of their achievements.
Choir Director Ian Young said: “We were so delighted to perform at the recent Angus Senior Schools Concert in Arbroath where our songs were well received by an enthusiastic audience.
“We look forward to our next concert which will be at Forfar Academy in June.”
NYCoS invite children from Primary 3 and 4 in the Angus area to attend one of two free recruitment workshops on Thursday, June 13 in Carnoustie or Thursday, June 20 in Forfar.
The half hour workshops are an informal way to try out fun singing games and rhymes with others.
To get more information and sign up for a workshop go to www.nycos.co.uk/area-choirs - closing date for applications is May 31.
The NYCoS was formed in 1996 and has since gone from strength to strength.
