THE RACHEL Hair Trio will be the guests at Montrose Folk Club next Tuesday at 8 pm in the Links Hotel, Mid Links, Montrose.

A concert by The Rachel Hair Trio presents a sparkling blend of melodic harp mastery, rootsy songs and sophisticated rhythmic drive. The trio are fronted by the acclaimed harpist-composer, Rachel Hair, and features the much-in-demand singer-guitarist Jen Butterworth and top Scottish double bassist, Ewan Burton.

Rachel is a harpist-composer whose sparky, mischievous personality shines throughout her music.

A first class music honours graduate and Alexander Stone Award winner, she has released two highly commended solo albums which have gained her admirers worldwide. She is unique in placing the oldest native Scottish instrument at the helm of her three-piece band.

Jen Butterworth has a beguiling voice and sought-after guitar skills, as well as considerable talents as a songwriter. She was formerly a member of the highly successful Anna Massie Band, and in addition, performs with Phil Cunningham.

Ewan Burton is one of Scotland’s leading double bass players. Brought up as a jazz musician, he performed with many top international jazz players, before joining the Rachel Hair Band.

Everyone is welcome at Montrose Folk Club next Tuesday for an evening of the best of Scottish Music and song, both traditional and modern.

Doors open at 7.30 pm with the Rachel Hair Trio on stage at 8 pm.
