Rehearsals are coming to an end for Tayside Symphony Orchestra’s autumn concert of 2014, which will take place on Saturday in the Reid Hall, Forfar at 7.30 p.m.
This ‘September Serenade’ concert has a selection of works by well-known composers, consisting of ‘The Land of the Mountain and Flood’ by McCunn, Saint-Saens’ ‘Danse Macabre’, ‘The Tam O’Shanter Overture’ by Arnold and Dvorak’s ‘New World Symphony’.
Bill McLeod, TSO chairman, said: “Andrew McGarva, the conductor of this concert, is very pleased with the way rehearsals have been going. We have chosen a mixture of musical items which will be easy on the ear on what we hope is a pleasant late summer evening.
“So why not come along and experience at first hand the musical expertise of TSO players? It’s an experience not to be missed, I can assure you.”
A bus will run from Montrose and Brechin to Forfar - contact John Stevenson on Montrose 830250.
Tickets are on sale from the Toy Castle, Castle Street, Forfar; Hoggs, High Street, Montrose, any member of TSO/TSO committee or at the door on the evening of the concert. Doors open 6.45 p.m.
