One of the UK’s most in-demand fiddle players will take to the stage at Fettercairn Hall, along with her friends, on Saturday (September 13).
Patsy Reid will be joined on stage by Matheu Watson (guitar and mandolin), Alistair Iain Paterson (piano and harmonium) and Signy Jakobsdottir (percussion).
The concert is hosted by local charity Angus Arts, and their administrator Sue Waddicor explains more about the event.
She said: “We hosted a fantastic concert last year when Patsy played as part of VAMM; however she’s been touring this year as ‘Patsy Reid & Friends’ following the release of her highly acclaimed solo album ‘The Brightest Path’. When she asked us if she could make a return visit to Angus Arts we were absolutely thrilled. She’s an incredibly talented musician with an extremely busy schedule, including playing on stage with Dougie MacLean at the Commonwealth Games Closing Ceremony, so it’s great that we have the opportunity to catch her in a local venue.”
Patsy is offering two workshop sessions at the hall in the afternoon. The first hour-long workshop at 2.45 p.m. caters for string players at an intermediate and advanced level. The 4 p.m. workshop welcomes people of all levels of experience with any instrument, with all four musicians available. It is necessary to book in advance.
The evening concert starts at 7.30 p.m. Tickets cost £10/£5 (child/student). Wine, soft drinks and some light snacks will be available but concert goers can bring their own picnic and drinks. Workshop tickets cost £5 for one and £8 for both. Contact Angus Arts on 01561 298173/01356 670304/or email firstname.lastname@example.org
