THIS year’s Bon Scott Fest organised by DD8 Music is a very special one, taking place on what would have been Bon’s 65th birthday.
Over two nights in July DD8 Music aim to keep the spirit of Bon alive with the fantastic AC/DC tribute band - Bon Ball’s - confirmed to return to Kirriemuir Town Hall on Saturday, July 9.
These guys blew the roof off last year, and the organisers are “over the moon” to have them back again.
A spokesman for the group gave details of the weekend’s line-up.
He said: “On Friday, July 8 local bands The Trade, Emerald Sunday and Buck Rogers will play Kirrie Town Hall, each of them doing a special Bon cover as part of their sets.
“Then on Saturday July 9 (what would have been Bon’s 65th birthday) there will be free music in local pubs, an exhibition of Bon memorabilia in the Townhouse museum and another evening gig in the Town Hall, with The Ghosts of Progress, Road Runner and the incredible AC/DC cover band, Bon’s Balls headlining.
“As well as the gig we will be hosting a raffle of AC/DC merchandise, including a tour poster signed by the current band.
Tickets for Friday are priced at £10 and will be available on the door on the night.
Saturday tickets, at £12.50, can be bought through www.ticketweb.co.uk or locally in Kirrie through the Kirriemuir Art Gallery on Reform St.
It is hoped this year’s Bon Scott Fest will be a birthday to remember!
