THE phenomenal demand for tickets for opera diva Lesley Garrett’s performances with the Arbroath Male Voice Choir has resulted in all the tickets for the March concerts being sold out.
Lesley is the special guest at the choir’s annual concerts in the Webster Memorial Theatre.
The two nights are now sold out with tickets being bought by people the length and breadth of the country.
Choir president Dr Richard Irvine said the choir was really looking forward to the gala concerts and was working very hard to put together a varied selection of pieces for people’s enjoyment.
He said: “It makes all the hard work worthwhile when you know you are going to be performing in front of a big audience.
“There has been tremendous interest and we’ve got people coming from as far away as Cornwall to listen to both performances. I’m pleasantly surprised because we knew the tickets would sell fairly well, but we didn’t think they would be as quick off the mark as we’ve seen.
“Everyone is looking forward to singing with Lesley and it promises to be a memorable weekend.”
With over 40 men on stage, the choir will bring audiences the power and passion of male voice singing under the direction of Sheena Guthrie.
