The Absolute Elvis Show starring Johnny Lee Memphis and his ten piece band rolls in to Montrose Town Hall on Saturday.

The current World Cup Champion Elvis Tribute artist brings all the raw passion and energy that the “King of Rock and Roll” had during his legendary Las Vegas concerts in the early 1970s, delivering hit after hit in a show lasting just over two hours.

Although tickets are still available, organisers have urged people wishing to attend to get them before the show as no cash can be taken on the night.

It is anticipated that “Elvis” will arrive for the show in an American car provided by local man Gregor Barton.

Mr Barton has a passion for cars and until recently, was the proud owner of a Cadillac, which was used to transport Johnny Lee Memphis from his hotel to a recent show in Dundee. He has since sold the Cadillac on and replaced it with another American classic.

After a near sell out show last year, Johnny Lee Memphis returns to the Montrose Town Hall in his second appearance in the town.

He brings with him the talented J.L.M. Band featuring the Memphis Belles and Graceland Horns for a show to remember.

After what Johhny described as “the best audience I’ve ever played for”, he enlisted the services of Montrose man Tommy Stewart, who has since become his manager.

Tommy said: “Being a fan myself, it’s a fantastic role to be in, albeit time consuming.

“Johnny has sat through hours of concert footage of The King, studying everything including the simple things like a hand gesture or a shake of the hips.

“Since last year, Johnny and his band have been rehearsing some new songs to add to the show. Some of the new ones in the set include ‘Always on My Mind’, ‘moody Blues’ and a fantastic version of ‘Amazing Grace.’

If you haven’t witnessed Johnny Lee Memphis in concert, prepare to be mesmerised not only by the moves, but by his superb vocal talent. Sit back, close your eyes and enjoy.

Tickets for Saturday’s show, priced £16.50 (balcony)/ £15(stalls), can be purchased either by credit/debit card on 01674 678080 or by cash at “Not Just 4 Kidz, 15 George St, Montrose.
