SCOTS songstress Rachel Sermanni makes a welcome return to the Bank Street Gallery, Kirriemuir this Saturday for an acoustic session at the intimate venue.
Rachel played at the gallery as a seventeen year old in May 2010 when she had just left school.
Now 20, Rachel is recognised as a great performer and an impressive songwriter.
She has been the darling of the festival scene over the last twelve months and has been spotted working with other artists promoting Scottish music overseas.
She is also performing at Celtic Connections again this year.
Rachel is from Carrbridge in the Highlands. Sometimes she plays solo and at others she is surrounded by a group of wonderful musicians consisting of Laura Wilkie, Siobhan Anderson, Louise Bichan, Leo and Declan Forde, Joe Rattray and pianist Jennifer Austin.
She has supported many acts over the past twelve months including Mumford & Sons on their infamous Highlands & Islands tour as well as amongst others, KT Tunstall, Newton Faulkner and John William Grant. The latter two who Rachel has ended up dueting with.
Last year she had many trips overseas and closer to home had many festival appearances including T in the Park HebCelt Festival, Stornoway, Wickerman Festival and Ben & Jerry’s, Manchester and London.
Space is limited at the Bank Street Gallery and tickets should be bought in advance. Priced £10 they are available from 01575 570070 or 07793743989. Doors open 7.30 pm.
