The fairytale romance between Cinderella and her Prince Charming is all set to blossom into life at Forfar’s Reid Hall in January.
Almost 50 young singers, dancers and actors from the Forfar and Kirriemuir area are busy rehearsing the annual Rising Youngstars pantomime.
Weekly rehearsals for Cinderella have been taking place since August and many of the cast are now rehearsing three times a week.
Fiona Retalic, producer of the show said: ““As well as being very talented, these young people are incredibly dedicated.
“As I watch the chorus rehearse their song and dance numbers, Cinderella waltz with the Prince, the Wicked Stepmother sing her evil heart out, the Ugly Sisters indulge in some very well-timed slapstick and the Fairy Godmother cast her magical spells, I often have to remind myself that every member of the cast of this pantomime is under 16.
“This is going to be yet another fantastic, fun-filled show by the Rising Youngstars which will leave everyone, of all ages, feeling good!”
Rising Youngstars’ production of Cinderella will be performed at The Reid Hall, Forfar at 7.30 p.m. from Wednesday, January 22 until Friday, January 24, 2014 with a matinee performance only on Saturday, January 25.
Fiona, who is also chair of the Rising Youngstars committee, explained that, as a special pre-Christmas offer, all tickets are currently priced at £6 with tables for six available for £40.
Fiona continued: “After December 26, tickets will be £8 and £6 concessions.
“Rising Youngstars is a community organisation run by a committee who are all parents so we all know just how expensive this time of year can be. We want as many people as possible to enjoy this wonderful show and hope the pre-Christmas price encourages several generations of families to come along!”
