JOE Cutler is joining the Scottish Ensemble on tour this Sunday as his new work for solo violin, ensemble and electronics is premiered at the Caird Hall, Dundee.

He will also be in conversation with Jonathan Morton, who directs and performs with the Ensemble, following the performance.

Joe is currently Head of Composition at Birmingham Conservatoire. His music has been performed in over 30 countries and on six continents.

In recent years he has written a number of orchestral pieces and has worked recently with the London Symphony Orchestra, BBC Symphony Orchestra, BBC Concert Orchestra, Scottish Chamber Orchestra, Swedish Chamber Orchestra, The Orchestra of the Swan and the RTE National Symphony Orchestra.

He has worked both in the concert hall and outside, working with visual artists such as Tom Dale, Jaap Drupsteen and Gary Ward and has written music for the National Theatre, London.

Sunday’s concert will celebrate the work of British composers, incorporating work from the ensemble’s existing repertoire and moving forward with Cutler’s world premiere. It will also include pieces from Britten and Tippet.
