The organisers of MoFest are to host a ‘spooktacular’ music event in Montrose this Hallowe’en and have confirmed Amelia Lily as the headline act.

‘Mopocalypse’, as the event is being called, will see six ‘fang-tastic’ acts including Aberdeen rock band Guttergodz, The Dead & Buried and Brothers Reid take to the stage at the Montrose Town Hall on Friday, October 31.

Nick Mercer junior, the former front man of Sergeant which has supported Oasis and The Fratellis, also joins the Friday night line-up.

The following night (Saturday, November 1), there is family entertainment from headline act Amelia Lily who rose to fame in The X Factor 2011; girl-band Stooshe whose hits include ‘Black Heart’; and the former Britain’s Got Talent contestants The Loveable Rogues.

Local band Peyton Place will also take to the stage.

Amelia Lily said: “I’m really excited about performing to fans in Montrose as part of Mopocalypse. The Saturday event is aimed at families so I’m hoping some of my younger fans will be able to come along for what is sure to be a great night.”

Over the weekend, a range of themed games, raffles and fancy dress competitions is planned.

David Paton, chairman of the Montrose Music Festival, said: “Following hot on the heels of our most successful Montrose Music Festival to date, we’re delighted to unveil Mopocalypse, two nights of superb music which includes performances from Amelia Lily, the Loveable Rogues, Stooshe as well as few surprises.

“As this is our first Hallowe’en event we’re going all out to ensure guests have a great time and get into the spirit so, in addition to great music, we’ve also planned a range of themed games, raffles and fancy dress competitions.”

Tickets are now on sale priced from £15 for the Friday and £22 for the Saturday night. Tickets are available online at or by phone: 0844 888 9991.
