Dundee Rep Theatre has announced its exciting autumn season, the first programmed and developed by its new joint artistic directors.
The season is packed with productions from Dundee Rep Ensemble and Scottish Dance Theatre, alongside the best of Scottish touring drama, music, comedy and children’s shows.
It will include a fitting tribute to Michael Marra when Dundee and Scotland’s finest musicians and singers will come together for a unique tribute to the life and music of legendary Dundonian songwriter Michael Marra. An Optimistic Sound will feature songs from throughout his long and respected career and proceeds from the concert will go towards the Marra family’s appeal to start one of Sistema Scotland’s Big Noise Orchestras in Dundee.
Dundee Rep Ensemble’s first production this season is Victoria by David Greig, which tells the extraordinary story of three generations of a Highland community and a landed estate – and all the major themes of Scotland in the twentieth century.
This epic new production features a large cast and marks director Philip Howard’s debut as joint artistic director of Dundee Rep, a role he shares with Jemima Levick.
The drama continues throughout the season with productions including Hecuba, performed in a specially constructed auditorium space on stage which promises to be an intimate and thrilling theatrical experience.

This Christmas Dundee Rep Ensemble presents Roald Dahl’s giant adventure The BFG. This family favourite is guaranteed to have audiences young and old transported to a wonderful world of make-believe, giants and Whizpoopers!
Scottish Dance Theatre presents Winter, Again & Second Coming returning to the Rep having wowed critics and audiences across the world.
Visiting theatre includes the multi award-winning and critically acclaimed Roadkill by Cora Bissett taking audiences into the brutal, complex and hidden world of human trafficking, based on real experiences of women trafficked to the west.

The Tailor of Inverness, Matthew Zajac’s phenomenal play, comes to Dundee for the first time. Winner of the 2009 Best Actor Award for the Scottish Critics, a Scotsman Fringe First and 2008 Stage Best Solo Performer Award, it tells an extraordinary and moving story of Zajac’s Polish father survival in war-torn Europe.
Experience a hilarious dinner service ‘Fawlty Style’ with Fawlty Towers - The Dinner Show. Performed as you dine this is a faithful tribute to the iconic show. Friday nights are comedy night with a superb line-up from the best of British stand-up circuit.
