‘The Stories of The Stones’ event in Aberlemno on Sunday enjoyed a fantastic turn out of locals and visitors alike keen to hear more about the village’s Pictish stones and their history.

Three walks took place after a talk by local historian, Norman Atkinson, which was very well received by all who attended.

Luckily the weather stayed fair in the morning for the walks, with everyone enjoying a burger at the barbecue on their return, although it took a turn for the worse in the afternoon. It failed to hamper anyone’s spirits, however, with three more walks being very well attended,

The hall itself had some wonderful stalls by local craftsmen including jewellery, cards, stone carvings, stained glass and books on the local area.

The raffle was also extremely well supported with top prizes donated by local painter Harold Jackson and P.M.R. Jewellery, Montrose.

The event was one of many organised by the Aberlemno Hall committee. The hall is also available for private bookings for birthdays, weddings etc.
