It’s a mixed week this week with two new highly anticipated films and the re-release of two much-loved classics.
First of the new releases is ‘Prisoners’ which centres around a small-town man who loses his daughter after she and a friend are kidnapped.
When the cops are unable to solve the crime, he decides to take matters into his own hands, getting the man who he suspects to be the kidnapper and taking him hostage.
Starring Jake Gyllenhal and Hugh Jackman this is definitely not one to be missed.
Next up is ‘Runner Runner’ starring Justin Timberlake and Ben Affleck.
Broke graduate Richie travels to Costa Rica to confront the gambling tycoon he believes swindled him.
When he arrives, he is drawn in by the glitz and glamour of the gambling world and coaxed by Block (the gambling tycoon) and the promise of wealth.
Moving onto the first of the re-releases we have the cult classic (literally) ‘The Wicker Man.’
Released because of the addition of a previously unseen cut, this is the ideal chance to catch it on the big screen for those who missed out the first time round.
A police sergeant finds himself involved in a lot more than he expected when he arrives on a Scottish island village to investigate the disappearance of a little girl. The locals claim the girl never existed, but as he digs deeper, a far more sinister truth is discovered.
And finally, ‘Saturday Night Fever’ is out on limited release. This John Travolta classic really needs no more introduction but another great chance to see it in cinemas.
