Stunning artwork from Forfar artist Suzanne Thomson is currently being exhibited in the Osnaburg Bar in Forfar.
The walls in both the lounge and the bar are adorned with the colourful, contemporary images, which range from Scottish thistles, poppies and sunflowers to zebras, lions, elephants, tigers to a Highland cow.
Suzanne graduated from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art with a B.A. Honours in Art and Design, but her real passion has always been painting.
Most of the paintings are done using a palette knife technique which really brings the paintings to life and gives them a 3D effect.
The vibrant work is all for sale,
Suzanne said: “I studied ceramics at college and sold my work at craft fairs whilst my family was growing up, but painting has always been my real passion.
“I am currently working on a selection of oil paintings which would certainly brighten up any room in your home! Some of the paintings are painted using a palette knife technique which I feel really brings the paintings to life and gives them a 3D effect.
“My inspiration mainly comes from the natural beauty of flowers and nature in general. Flowers have a short lifespan but through paint you can capture their beauty forever. I also love trying to capture the personality and character of animals; they each have their own unique spirit and vitality for life. I love bringing them to life through paint whether, it be a family pet or a Siberian tiger.
“I enjoy painting family pets, all I need is a couple of good quality photographs to paint from. If you are interested please call me on 01307 468007.”
