THIS September, to celebrate the opening of their new gallery space, the Brechin Town House Museum presents its first contemporary exhibition which opened on Saturday.
It features the work of Hetty Haxworth and Rachel Owen.
Hetty’s abstract prints are based on organic forms, which are inspired by patterns found in nature, particularly from the coastal landscape.
Her work investigates the delicate juxtaposition of colour, form and line. She will be running free drop-in screen-printing workshops for children (accompanied by their parents) in the Town House Museum on Saturday, September, 17 from 2 to 4 pm and Saturday, September 24 from 2 to 4pm - all welcome.
Rachel’s recent work comprises photographic screenprints exploring the idea of transformation, both natural and supernatural. The exhibition is open Monday to Saturday 10 am to 5pm – admission free.
