ANGUS Open Studios are holding an Art and Craft exhibition during the Ricoh Women’s Open Golf Championship.
The exhibition and sale coincides with Britain’s top women’s golfing event, from July 28 to 31, and will take place in the Dibble Tree Theatre, Carnoustie, from 12 noon to 9 pm each day.
Twenty exhibitors will be showing a diverse range of work including ceramics, art glass furniture, contemporary hand woven fabrics, original paintings, fine art photography, handmade felt, jewellery, and a range of crafts-people involved in cross disciplinary work and those specialising in their own highly specialised disciplines, such as cane seating restoration.
It will be an opportunity for everyone in Angus during the Open, visitors as well as residents, to see what the vibrant art and craft community has to offer and mix a little shopping in alongside the golf.
May saw the first ever Open Studios event in Angus, which was a huge success attracting hundreds of visitors to meet over 50 artists and crafts-people in venues across the county. The event is now established in Scotland’s annual arts and craft calendar. One of the most important objectives of Open Studios is to raise the profile of the great many talented artists, craftsmen and designer-makers that the county has.
As the Ricoh Women’s Open will bring thousands of visitors to the area, it will be a great opportunity to connect with people, and to show them another aspect of what Angus has to offer visitors.
