The latest art exhibition at the Bank Street Gallery in Kirriemuir is a joint exhibition by Dave ‘Cubby’ Cuthbertson and Joy Grindrod.

Susie Clark of the gallery was delighted to welcome them both to Kirriemuir last Thursday for a private viewing, with the exhibition running until August 1.

She said: “Dave is in his fifties and originally from Edinburgh. He lives up in the mountains near Ballachulish now!

“‘Cubby’, as he’s known in the climbing fraternity, is another of Scotland’s secret treasures - a climber first and foremost and, as age and injury creep up on him, a photographer of his beloved mountains. Start him talking about his amazing Noblex camera (incorporating a cogged, rotating lens - never mind any of your fish eyes!) - now obsolete but just as fabulous as ever - and you may need to stick around for a while. His enthusiasm is infectious!

“Joy is a landscape painter who is some standing south of the border - but her love of the Highlands shines through - she hopes to move her studio north soon.”

The gallery opens Wednesday to Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sunday 1 to 4 p.m.
