Following the £2500 win by Andy Ferrar in late February, Forfar man Tom Hamilton went a ‘wee’ bit better last week, when he scooped a £2750 prize in the Loons Lottery.
Tom, who learned about his win late on Monday night of last week, was only too happy to pop into The Toy Castle in Castle Street, Forfar, the next day to receive his cheque from Forfar Athletic Football Club director Dennis Fenton.
The win did not come as a surprise to Tom as he had already told his wife that this would be his lucky week, as he had had five correct numbers the week before and was on a run!
Tom always buys his ticket from Hampton’s the newsagents who were happy to learn of his win.
Over the past few months more organisations have decided to join the Loons Lottery family to raise much needed funds, and Dennis welcomes The Jack and Jill Playgroup, The Viewmount Voices Residents Group, Angus Three-Ways charity and the return after the winter break of the Boyle Park Bowling Club.
The Loons wish them every success in their efforts.
A special mention must go to the Forfar Indoor Bowling Club, who came to the end of a shorter winter season with around £1200 going into their funds due to Ian Ritchie’s sterling ticket selling efforts.
No doubt Ian will be all out to better this figure next season.
As always Dennis is always delighted to welcome new groups into the Loons Lottery family and can be contacted through The Toy Castle in Castle Street, Forfar (tel: 463001 or 464424).
