Clear skies and a cool breeze last Wednesday evening made for near ideal conditions for Forfar Road Runners’ penultimate six-mile time trial of the season.
Brian Bonnyman clocked the fastest time on the night of 34 mins and 53 secs, followed by Ron Milne in 41.37 with Jack Davies taking third with a personal best of 42.37. Erin Brown was fourth overall and first female back, with Billy Douglas and Peter Robertson finishing joint fifth in 48.12. Karen Campbell finished seventh in 49.12 with Sandra Pattie in eighth with a PB of 50.42 followed by Angie Mackenzie in ninth with another PB of 52.17 Sarah Clark was 10th in 58.28, with Sam Connelly finishing 11th in 64.18. Performance of the night was from Brian Niblock running his first time trial since breaking his hip earlier in the year who completed one lap of the course in a very respectable 21.14.
On Sunday, Beverly Smeaton took another step forward in her return from injury with a solid performance at the Stirling 10k, where she finished in 54.04. Meanwhile the Pass family were out in force in Newcastle on Sunday for the Great North Run. Lewis and Abigail ran the junior 4k race in 18.34 and 23.48 respectively, while mum Donna put in a nippy 1.41.19.
