Strathmore hosted Gordonians on Saturday down at Inchmacoble and carried on where they left off against St Andrews the week before.
A few injuries forced first team coach Stewart Ross to make changes but the guys who came in did not disappoint
Try scorers on the day were Fraser McKay, Struan Robertson, Jeff Yarr and two from Dave Smith. Three conversions from man of the match Fraser McKay added to Strathmore’s points tally.
Stuart Gray, club captain, said: “Despite the loss of four experienced backs Strathmore were able to pick up where they left off last week with another slick performance.
“The intensity and aggression from the forward pack allowed for the young backline to show their pace and with quick hands sliced through Gordonians several times.
“Try of the day was an interception from maverick fly half Fraser McKay which killed off any chance of a comeback for the Aberdeen outfit. McKay delivered a mature performance and was deservedly made man of the match but his day was made easier by the work rate of those around him who constantly offered running options.”
There is no game for the First XV this coming Saturday however the Second XV are at home to Hillfoots with a 3 p.m. kick-off. They will be hoping for a stronger display after losing heavily to Arbroath last week.
