Six Forfar Road Runners made the trip north on Sunday for the 30th edition of the Inverness Half Marathon.
First back for the club was Nari Hena in a new personal best time of one hour 32 minutes and seven seconds followed by reigning club half-marathon champion Brian Niblock in 1.34.00.
Hugh Mackenzie took more than three minutes off his previous best to finish in 1.45.08. Sarah Clark was the first lady home for the club in 1.54.11, followed by Angie Mackenzie with a PB of 1.57.50 and Karen Fletcher who was timed at 2.06.17.
The race was convincingly won by Scottish Hill Running international Robbie Simpson of Deeside Runners in 1.06.03 with Portobello’s Nicola Duncan first back in a very strong female field in a time of 1.13.28.
Meanwhile, Forfar Road Runners’ veteran champion Alan Welsh started the defence of his title with a strong performance at the Lasswade 10 Mile Road Race on Sunday, March 2.
Alan finished the hilly route in 26th place overall and 3rd in the over 50 category in a personal best of one hour four minutes and 27 secs.
