Six FORFAR Road Runners made the trip over to sunny Fife on Sunday for the East Neuk 10K.
First home out of the 280 starters was Robert Gilroy of Ronhill Cambuslang, who finished in 32 mins 46 secs, followed by Jozsef Farkas in 33.13, with Anster Haddies’ own Del Rae taking third in 34.04.
Edel Mooney of Lothian Runners was first female home (and 13th overall) in 37.01, ahead of ex-Forfar Road Runner Addy Gerrald of Fife AC 39.35, who also took the first FV50 prize.
First Forfar RR back was Jack Davies, whose 42.35 was enough to take 3rd place in the MV60 class. Club president Brian Niblock was next home in 44.59, a remarkable result for his first competitive race since breaking his hip exactly six months ago.
First lady finisher for the club was Eileen Jackson in 49.21, followed by Beverly Smeaton in 53.58 and Angie Mackenzie in 54.11. Sam Connelly finished in 60.53, taking third place in the over-70 category.
Meanwhile, well done to Lynn Henderson, who braved the frosty (and muddy) conditions on Saturday morning to finish first lady in the Camperdown Parkrun. Lynn finished the hilly 5K course in a time of 21.20.
This month’s club meeting will take place on Sunday evening in the Osnaburg Bar, starting at 7.30 pm. Finally, good luck to all the runners heading up to Inverness for Sunday’s Loch Ness Marathon.
