FORFAR Road Runners took advantage of a break in a congested fixture list to stage their own handicap race on Sunday past.

The latest in the six-mile series over the Suttieside circuit saw a break in the wet conditions although the runners were greeted by sultry, humid conditions with the odd faraway rumble of thunder.

Guest runner Lynn Henderson of Arbroath topped the rankings in splendid style with a run of 40-37 with Brian Niblock leading male in 43-00. Other finishers include Donna Pass 44-17, Guy Sinclair 44-50, Jack Davies 45-05, Mark Melnyk 47-16, Elizabeth Montgomery-Fox 49-55, Pauline Fairbairn 54-07 and Bev Smeaton 56-31. Cousins Ian and Scott Wilson completed a single lap in 35-38 and 32-11 respectively.
