WHAT a difference a week can make!
Only seven days after making runs while the sun shone, Strathmore’s cricketers found themselves at a loose end as heavy rainstorms washed play out over the entire weekend.
The first team matches away to Kinloch on the Saturday and at home to Caledonia Academy on the Sunday fell victims to the weekend soaking, while there was no play for the second string at Arbroath on the Sunday either.
The marked contrast to the previous weekend, when supporters basked in glorious sunshine to watch their cricket, just goes to show how unpredictable the Scottish weather can be.
Fingers are crossed that there is a vast improvement in the weather ahead of this coming weekend.
Both the first and second teams are on their travels. On Saturday, the first team head for Huntly, while, on Sunday, the seconds are at Strathearn.
Friday evening sees Strathie host Kinloch in the Murgitroyd Trophy.
