Strathmore Under-16s’ brave efforts on Sunday were not enough against the huge Ross Sutherland team in the Bowl semi-final.

The defeat means the Inchmacoble side drop into the Plate Final this coming Sunday in Perth against Crieff and Strathearn.

Strathmore were very competitive in all aspects of the game, however the visitors took the early lead running in three tries, Strathie fought back well and tries from Darren Bell and Ruaridh Lawrie along with two conversions from Murray Mitchell brought the game back to 14 - 15 for the visitors and all to play for.

Ross Sutherland’s shear size and power eventually wore the home team down and as the game progressed the visitors just edged their way to a good victory, winning the game 14 - 48.

No way was this a disgrace for the young Strathie squad who very brave and committed. Crieff and Strathearn will be another big challenge for this Strathie squad in the Plate final and the Sharks have a training game against Dundee Eagles on Wednesday night as they prepare for their biggest game of the season.
