THE Tri Sport Camp, run by three of Forfar’s top sporting clubs, the Strathmore Sharks Junior Rugby Club, Strathmore Cricket Club and Forfar Golf Club, proved to be a massive success with local youngsters.

Around 40 kids enjoyed introductions to rugby, cricket and golf at the respective club’s venues over three days.

The event was aimed at youngsters aged between five and 13, with the view to giving them taster sessions in each of the sports and hopefully culminating in some, if not all of them joining at least one of the clubs they had visited.

The event was the brainchild of the Strathmore Sharks chairman Kevin Mitchell who said: “It is important for all the clubs involved to have strong community links and I think we’ve certainly achieved that.

“Most importantly, all those who took part said they had a great time”.
