Letham-based Sandy Mitchell had an excellent Knockhill debut recently at the BTCC round.
It was the first time the 15-year-old had raced there but he qualified sixth for race one and seventh for race three, with a starting position of fifth for the reverse grid for race two.
After some of the closest racing that the MSA Formula has produced on the calendar so far, Sandy went on to finish fourth in races one and two with a fifth placed finish in race three.
This meant Sandy was on the Rookie Podium after all three races to collect the second placed rookie trophy each time.
Sandy said: “It was fantastic to race in front of such a huge home crowd. Lots of my friends and family were there too, collecting three rookie trophies and to have three great races with them supporting me is a great feeling.”
