The last time Angus Pony Club won the Prince Philip Cup was in 1968 when Andrew Reid was a team member.
This year, 44 years later, Andrew is now team trainer and the Angus Pony Club have qualified for the six team final at Horse of the Year Show (HOYS) at the NEC, Birmingham October 3-7, 2012.
He has trained the games teams since 1985 but the last time a team from Angus qualified for the finals was in 1984.
The team to have qualified includes James Baillie (13), Forfar; Rachel Gordon (12), Forfar; Morven McLean (14), Kirriemuir; Robin Baillie (15) Forfar, Louise Hill (12) Forfar and Georgie Braithwaite (12), Forfar.
Over 250 teams from across the country challenge for the six finalist places at HOYS each year and qualifying rounds are held in 19 areas across the UK.
The Prince Philip Cup was devised to be entertaining, visually engaging and to enhance rider skills and team work.
