The Strathie Sharks’ Under-16 team played Aberdeen Wanderers at Inchmacoble on Sunday and despite a great team display they were defeated 39-10.

The depth of squad for the Wanderers was the difference between the teams; as the Strathie boys tired in the latter stages the Wanderers were able to keep revolving the numerous subs they had and ran in a few late tries.

The Sharks Under-16s’ coaches were delighted with the effort put in by the boys and will be hoping for another strong team performance when the guys play Inverurie at home next week with a 12 p.m. kick-off.

Meanwhile the Strathie Sharks P4/5 and P6/7 teams were in action at the Dundee Wasps tournament on Sunday. Both teams played tremendous rugby and with a great spirit.

Sharks chairman Murray Duguid said: “Quite rightly the P4/5 and P6/7 coaches were full of praise for the youngsters as the players hard work at training is really showing in the quality of rugby being played by the Sharks.”

The P4/5s finished second in their competition and the P6/7s finished third.
