STRATHMORE Cricket Club have a win under the belt - with the second team, doing the business in Montrose on Sunday.
It was hard going for the second string though, with that man “Extras” top scoring for both sides in a low-scoring affair.
Montrose were first to test the wicket and they found runs hard to come by.
Indeed, only one batsman, K. Christie, managed to get into double figures.
Craig McDonald was top performer with the ball, taking three wickets for 12, Andy Sturrock weighing in with two for 15 and Fraser Couston claiming two victims for 21.
With Montrose all out for 81 it looked plain sailing for Strathie, but they too found the going tough when it came to flashing the willow.
Sean Wilkie top scored with 19 and Andy Sturrock was 15 not out when the visitors eventually managed to overhaul the Montrose score - for the loss of eight wickets!
The firsts didn’t get much action at home to Dundee High School FP on the Saturday.
The game was only six overs old when the rain clouds arrived and the match never got going again.
Fingers are crossed for better luck with the weather this coming Saturday when the first team entertain Arbroath.
The seconds are at home to Forthill on Sunday.
