Season goes out on a high

The Strathmore Cricket Club second team finished the 2012 season on a high.

They recorded a victory at home to Arbroath, to finish runners-up in the Strathmore second division winning the toss, Strathie put Arbroath in to bat.

Wickets fell steadily, reducing the visitors to 55 for three and 65 for nine.

The end total was 85 all out. Captain Alan McKay took three wickets for three wickets for three runs, with Gary Hewitson and Andy Sturrock picking up two wickets each.

In reply, Strathmore cruised to victory, losing just three wickets in the process.

Norman Milton top scored, his 35 not out including a six and two fours.

The 2012 season will come to a close this Sunday when the weather delayed Factory Cup six-a-side competition takes place.
