Phin Trophy win to kick start season

The Fothringham season got under way with the opening game to the Phin Trophy in Dundee where Adrian White, Craig Johnston, Layla and Alison Wylie secured a win against Claverhouse.

The clubs’ opening bonspiel; 101 saw two rinks take to the ice. David Pate, Hailey Duff, Alison Wylie and Shona Kilgour won 9-5 over Graeme Nicoll and his family team of Louise, Scott and Iona.

The trophy went to Alison Orr, Carolyn Nicoll, Sandy Ogilvie and Anne Donald after winning 10-3 over Jo Fletcher, Sheena Carcary, Juaad Wylie and Carol Drummond.

Jill Donald, Craig Johnston, Layla and Alison Wylie won 11-5 over Baldovan in the Phin Trophy. The Angus Province, mixed bonspiel was played midweek with Fothringham represented by Stewart Robertson, Jo Fletcher, Hamish Smith and Linda Ruxton. Unfortunately, no scorecard was in the box so there is no score.

The opening round of the Agricar League took place with winning ways. Jill Donald, Craig Johnston, Andy Ducat and Carol Drummond won 12-4 over University of Dundee.
