High impact pro-wrestling action returns to Angus this week with an annual tournament set for the Reid Hall, Forfar.
Four of the top wrestlers in the North-east will engage in the knockout showdown on Saturday (March 29) as WrestleZone returns.
The competitors – Scotty Swift, Zach Dynamite, Chris Archer and Alan Sterling – are well known on the grappling circuit, and with a big prize on the line, all four will be out for victory here.
Most wrestling critics will consider Scotty Swift (33) the favourite, but the “Red-Haired Warrior” knows to expect a tough opening contest against Chris Archer (19) in the first semi-final.
He said: “I am delighted to be involved in this tournament and a victory would mean a lot to my career. Chris Archer is forging a great career at such a young age. While he has all the enthusiasm of youth, I have years of experience in the wrestling ring, and I hope that can see me through. Although we are in action every week, these one-night tournaments are a rarity, and that makes them all the more exciting for the fans.”
The other semi-final will see Zach Dynamite (20) look to overcome Alan Sterling (28) and mark a tremendous return to form.
“Fully Loaded” Dynamite, who returned from a career-threatening shoulder injury, also cannot wait to return to the Reid Hall.
WrestleZone host Martyn Clunes expects a tough competition but is looking forward to the return of body-slamming action to the Reid Hall. There will be other matches involving favourites like Blue Thunder, Shawn Johnson and Bryan Tucker. Doors at the Reid Hall open at 7 p.m. with the action getting underway at 7.30 p.m. Pay-at-the-door, £12 for adults and £8 for under 14s.
