The Forfar Academy netball team recently enjoyed a trip to the Emirates Arena, Glasgow, for the Netball World Youth Championships.
Louise Greenhill, one of the S4 pupils, shares their experiences.
She said: “When we arrived we had some photographs taken of the team before entering the arena ready to cheer on the Cayman Islands, who we had been nominated to sponsor.
“The first game we saw was Wales against the Cayman Islands. As both of the teams walked out on to the court there was a loud cheer.
“We were all very excited to watch the match in the hope that we would notice some of the techniques they used and be able to put them in to our games.
“The game was very one-sided, with Wales taking a very early lead and continuing to do so throughout the game. The final score was 94-10 to Wales.
“Once that game had finished we stayed in our seats to watch the remaining time of the Trinidad and Tobago against Northern Ireland game.
“This game was more exciting to watch, as the score stayed quite balanced through the whole match. In the end Trinidad and Tobago won.
“We were mostly excited about the Scotland match.
“We took to our seats, and brought out our Scotland flags ready to cheer on our country.
“We rose for the national anthem, which was sung unexpectedly by one of the Scotland players.
“The game started off really well and the atmosphere was immense.
“Unfortunately for Scotland they started to fall behind.
“But we cheered as loud as we could, as we know how much better we play when we have a crowd to support us.
“The final score was Samoa 54 and Scotland 31.”
