Having already won Division One and the overall Championship, it was time to see if the more junior curlers from Forfar Young Curlers could get promoted out of Division Three.

The two teams, Craig Paterson skip, Allan Grant third, Fraser Smith second, Rachel Flint lead; and Ewan Maguire skip, Nicola Joiner third, Fraser White second, Jodie Duff lead, played their first games against Perth. FYC won both games.

In the second games Forfar Young Curlers were up against Dumfries on their home ice. Once again FYC came away with the two victories.

In the third game against Ayr Junior Curlers, FYC had one win and one loss. However, the one win was good enough to ensure that FYC finished top of Group A and played the second ranked team from Group B which was Braehead.

FYC had close games against Braehead in the final decider. Craig Paterson was two down on the last end, and with his last stone played a great double take-out to remove two Braehead stones and leave Forfar Young Curlers lying four to win the game 7-5.

In the other game, Ewan Maguire took a two with hammer down the last to win 9-5. Forfar Young Curlers are promoted to Division Two. The other final was Lockerbie against Perth with Perth winning promotion to
Division Two.

Meanwhile, Forfar Young Curler Duncan Menzies is off to the the World Junior Championships in Switzerland this week as the Alternate player for Team Kyle Smith representing Scotland. Good luck Duncan!
