A group of local golfers and their supporters from throughout Angus swapped their golf gear for kilts last month to take part in a charity walk.

Calling themselves ‘The Birdies’ the group from Brechin Golf Club and their families took part in the Kilt Walk held in Camperdown Park, Dundee.

The Kilt Walk raises money for children’s charities.

Joyce Brown’s daughter Jennifer walked the 13 miles, with all the others walking six miles. Half the money raised went to the Kilt Walk with the other half going to SANDS (Sudden and Neonatal Death Syndrome). This is a charity close to Joyce and her family as she lost a grandson one year ago.

The Birdies raised over £2,000 on the day and Joyce and her family would like to thank everyone who took part in the walk and also all the sponsors from Edzell Golf Club, Brechin Golf Club, friends from Montrose, Forfar and many others.

The Dundee Kiltwalk is returning to Camperdown on October 4, 2015 and is seeking 2,000 walkers to take part in the major event.
