Friendly start to the new season

FINGERS are crossed for a repeat of the wonderful sunny weather of the past weekend when the new cricket season opens at the Lochside this coming Saturday.

Strathmore will play host to a team from Clackmannan in a friendly fixture to herald the opening of the 2010 season.

The following day Glenrothes will be visitors to Strathie.

Arrangements are also being put in place for a summer season of league action involving the first and second eleven sides.

Club president Laurance Knight is busy organising the popular sponsorship packages, and already seven of the ten home dates available have been snapped up by businesses or groups of supportive individuals.

If you don’t want to miss out, match sponsorship is available for the following three home games:- Saturday, April 23 - against Dundee High School F.P; Saturday, April 30 - against Arbroath; Saturday, May 21 - against Stoneywood Dyce.

Off the field, the fund-raising programme continues unabated. Next up is a cabaret evening in the company of Colin Star. If you want to be there tickets are available from the clubhouse.
