Forfar Young Curlers win RCCC Challenge

Forfar Young Curlers were celebrating after their team was victorious at the RCCC Skills Award Challenge competition in Braehead at the weekend.

The winning team was James Craik skip, Ross Craik second, Angus Reford third and Katy Kirk lead.

There 16 teams from all over Scotland taking part in the challenge and FYC fielded two teams of mixed experience levels, with players from different levels of the RCCC Awards featuring.

FYC’s other team was Euan MacDiarmid skip, Adam MacDiarmid second, Sam Marshall third and Inca Maguire lead.

Team Craik won all three of their group games before defeating Hamilton Three in the semi-final.

And in the final it was another Hamilton team they faced, Craik’s team once again coming out on top to win the competition.

Team MacDiarmid won all three of their group games before losing to Hamilton Two in the semi-final.

They were victorious over Hamilton Three in the third/fourth playoff to ensure Forfar took two of the top three placings.
