PUPILS at Forfar Academy have competed successfully in the Tayside Schools Swimming Championships.
In the 15/16 years competition there were, once again, some fantastic results for the school.
Beth Milne won the silver medal in the 200 metre backstroke and bronze medal in the 100 metre backstroke events, Daniel Baty won a gold medal in both the 100 metre and 200 metre freestyle events, Ellie McCallum finished fourth overall in the 100 metre breaststroke and Callum Brown finished fifth overall in the 100 metre breaststroke event. Well done to all swimmers.
Congratulations also go to the pupils who competed in the 13/14 and the 17-19 gala.
The results were as follows:-
Lucy Richardson, Kirsty Richardson, Karri Milne and Megan Baty – bronze medal for the 200 metre freestyle relay; Ellie Finlayson – silver medal for the 400 metre freestyle and gold medal for 200 metre breaststroke; Kirsty Richardson – bronze medal for the 200 metre backstroke; Lucy Richardson – fourth overall in both the 200 metre IM and 100 metre backstroke; Megan Baty – gold medal for the 200 metre freestyle and silver medal for the 100 metre freestyle; Blair Fotheringham – gold medal for both the 200 metre freestyle and 100 metre freestyle events. Several personal best times were also achieved in these events – very well done to all the pupils.
